Nayarit figure, made of polychrome ceramic formed as a torso resting on a crescent-shaped tripod platform. The figure's curving arms, painted in red and black stripes, rest on the edge of the platform. The head has a large nose and ears that flow seamlessly into a spreading, triangular headdress. Red stripes are painted across the back and a crescent-shaped red stripe is painted behind the figure on the platform top.
Some of the original paint has worn off. Protoclassic, CA, 100 BC - 250 AD. Height 2 3/4 in. $300
